Thank you to the ladies of UC-Santa Barbara & Humboldt University for having me come by and speak at their Take Back the Night Rallies! I had a great time, and I never tire in hearing these womens' stories, and hearing them chant!

I'm part of a cast for an upcoming film called, "Imelda! Live! Barefoot and in Yo' Face!", where I play the mother of Imelda, the main character. I'm hardly in it, but I'm kinda like the mother Filipinas role. The costume and headpiece were wonderfully surreal. Can't wait to see how the film turns out! And what's more, it's about time to see a tale of a young Pinay girl kicking ass and saving the world from corporate takeover! Unfortunately, I won't be by able to attend the fundraiser (below) cuz I'm going to be in the Philippines for a month, but please come support!! I will be donating some Bamboo Girl stuff to the event though, so I'm there in spirit.

Kickin' It Live at Imelda's Barefoot Bash!

Imelda! Live! Barefoot and in Yo' Face! is destined to be the first politically conscious, Filipino-American superhero. Twelve-year-old Imelda
is forced to track down her lucky, one-of-a-kind shoes. Stolen by Freddy, an aspiring conservative republican who rejects his Filipino heritage for
acceptance into mainstream America, the shoes are believed to be the source of Imelda's extraordinary abilities. With help from her Lola and Kuya Dinggoy, Imelda embarks on a personal mission and begins an unexpected voyage of self-discovery. Along the way, Imelda uncovers a corporate conglomerate conspiracy designed to control the global shoe market. Led by an international team of multi-billion dollar jingoists and CEOs intent on world domination, Operation Enduring Techno-Industrial-Consumption aims to destroy locally owned businesses that threaten transcontinental capitalist interests. As the fate of the world hangs in the balance, Imelda must overcome deep-rooted insecurities to save the universe from a corporate world takeover. The film stars Charity Cabico, Regie Cabico, Liza Deocampo, Joseph Pe, Sabrina Margarita Alcantera Tan, F. Omar Telan, and John Wernke. Written and directed by Eloise Rose S. Lee.
